Esther DuCarmont

Esther is incredibly loyal to those whom have earned her trust, and respect. Those whom she considers her own have her undying loyalty, and those she considers her family are to be protected at all costs. She is also very loyal to her current employer Varrus. Esther in her own way cares for him, and has accepted him as one of her own this applies to Oliver as well. Of course seeing that later on she enters a deeper relationship with Oliver he is then more important to her than Varrus. Everette is her first love that she still cares about very much. His family is her family she protects them like she would protect her birth family.

Esther was born crippled. She was born with deformed legs leading to the amputation of the crippled limbs. Her mother is a woman of noble status whom was raped as a young woman. Esther's mother's father threatened to disown her if she kept the crippled bastard child. Esther was abandoned at a dock in Manhattan, New York near a brothel. She was found in a trashcan behind a brothel and taken in by the whores. She was raised in the brothel until she was twelve. A gay man whom visited the brothel often taught her how to read, and write. She was then expected to repay the house owner for the twelve years she stayed at the whore house. She ran away at the age of twelve, and then five years later was found by Grandpa Finley. She was accepted into the family and soon fell in love with the oldest son Everette. She made her first pair of legs soon after. Everette went into the army, and left her only about a year, and a half later. She suffered from severe depression and nightmares shortly after he left. She was treated with high doses of medication to sleep, but eventually decided she couldn't stay any longer. Esther ran away from the Finley household about a year after Everette left for the army. At this point in life Esther was unstable, and felt that finding her true mother would help. Her mother was terrified to meet her, after all she had her father's eyes. Esther wanted to make it easier for her mother so she tracked down her father down and killed him. She brought his corpse to her mother as a gift. Her mother was terrified by her, and attempted to have Esther arrested. Esther fled before they found her, and began dealing drugs for a living. The big fish of the town didn't appreciate her business so they beat the shit out of her destroying the left side of her skull, left eye, and cut off some of her fingers. Soon after her recovery she turned to mercenary work, built a new family for herself in the underground, and eventually that lead her to the current point in the story. After years of fighting since then she lost more fingers, acquired new scars, and made another family.
